Loop YouTube Videos for Guitar Practice

Take any lesson, solo transcription, or backing track on YouTube, loop the four bars you're working on, and slow them down until your fingers catch up — without changing the pitch.

Set up a practice loop in 30 seconds

  1. Copy the YouTube URL of the lesson or song and paste it into repeat-videos.com. It starts looping automatically.
  2. Drag the A handle to where the riff starts and the B handle to where it ends. Only that section repeats now.
  3. Drop the speed to 0.5× or 0.75×. The pitch stays the same, so you play along in the original key.
  4. As it gets clean, step the speed back up — 0.75×, 1×, and 1.25× for overspeed practice.

Why looping beats scrubbing back by hand

Practice ideas that work well with loops

Slow-to-fast laddering

Loop a two-bar phrase at 0.5×, play it ten clean times, raise to 0.75×, repeat, then 1×. The counter keeps you honest at every step.

Problem-bar isolation

Tighten the A-B window to just the transition that keeps failing — often only one or two seconds — and drill exactly that, not the comfortable bars around it.

Ear training and transcription

Loop a lick at 0.5× and pick it out by ear before looking at the tab. Slower playback keeps pitches identical, so what you hear is what you play.

FAQ

How do I loop one part of a guitar video?

Drag the A and B handles on the timeline around the section. Playback repeats between them until you move the handles or turn the loop off.

Does slowing down change the pitch?

No — playback is time-stretched, notes keep their pitch at any speed from 0.5× to 2×.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works as a guest. Signing in only adds syncing your saved songs and loops across devices.
